PUR versus EVA glues in the perfect binding process: what is the answer?
Depending upon the usage of the product, the type paper your customer is requiring and the thickness of the book will determine which glue will be needed. PUR glue is 30% more costly to the customer and is not always required. After many years of experience we have found that the thickness of the book is more important than the type of paper used. For example, a 1/8" thick book on 80# gloss book weight will not require PUR glue. Although, a ½" thick book on 80# gloss book will require PUR glue. Always feel free to call us for advice on PUR or EVA glues.
